General Motors (Canada) was the first sponsor of the radio broadcasts (with Foster Hewitt) that was to eventually become " Hockey Night In Canada ". Apparently the new president of General Motors of Canada , had been freshly transferred from the United States , deemed that he " did not believe hockey would sell cars " and he ended the sponsorship after only three short years. At that point (1936) Imperial Oil took over the sponsorship. The Leafs won the Cup In 1931 and the were so sure they would win in 1932 that they had this picture taken. They never won in 32.
Lucky Cotton's head (in the back row) was airbrushed in as he was trade in after the picture was taken. This puzzle is complete in original condition with the box.
